History of the Kolkata Dakshineswar Temple – According to West Bengal tourism website the construction of the Dakshineshwar Kali mandir was initiated in the year 1847 and completed in 1855. The famous Dakshineswar temple was founded by Rani Rashmoni following a dream she saw when she was about to start on her pilgrimage to Benaras. The temple was dedicated in the name of Rani’s Guru, and Ramkumar, was the head priest, who installed the idol of Goddess Kali in the new temple with a grand splendor on Thursday, 31st May, 1855

दक्षिणेश्वर काली मंदिर Temple Timings – Dakshineshwar Temple timings are as follows – Morning: 6:30 am to 12.30 pm
Evening: 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Devotees begin to visit the goddess from early morning. Visitors should try to come as early as possible as the queue is very long. If possible avoid weekends. There are proper arrangements for Flowers and other puja materials for the devotees inside the temple complex.

Dakshineswar to Belur Math Ferry – If devotees want to go to Belur Math which is the Headquarters of Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission then they can take the ferry directly from the Dakshineswar temple which is very near from the Temple.
